Stitch a time - Margaret Sherry

I haven't been posting in this blog since a very long time...

well, since today I am showing off my latest finished work... I will show it also here!

it was a kit from Anchor, the author is Margaret Sherry which I love a lot as an artist.

I had started this several years ago and finally it sees its end!

now I have to frame it...

Finished works

I am not stitching too much, but since I last wrote here, something has been completed (even if a lot of works still have to find a real use...

in April I finished the Halloween SAL I had to complete before October 2014.

this was a free chart from San Man Originals that can be found in the site Cyberstitchers.com

I still have to decide what to make of it...


in May I finished the SAL created by the dear friend Francesca Cuoreditela:

and even for this one... still have no idea on how to use it... but it is so nice!!! ;-)

still in May, in Italy we have Mother's Day and I did this for my mom:

and this small but challenging tree from Renato Parolin

it took me 6 months or more to finish it... the challenge was for my eyes and the fabric... in winter light I couldn't see it easily

these trees are 5 of a series, so I still have to stitch 4 and then will decide how to use them... who knows when will it happen!!! LOL

Spring stitching

In March I stitched two little things.
The first one above here was for a contest launched fot Italian Stitchers by Mani di Donna.
You had to buy the pattern (and if you wanted also the buttons, made by Stitched Tales: I love her buttons, so I couldn't resist to them) and stitch it within the 7th of April.
For once in my life I had finished it very quicly and have also mounted it to be hanged before Easter in my home.

... and... I WON!!! The winner was choosen among all the people who had finished it in time, so I have really been lucky!
now I am waiting to receive the prize... will show it when it will reach me ;-)

This second little Spring pattern was a freebie made by Romy's Creation and it was supposed to be for another contest, but I was sure it won't suit me such a kind of contest as the winner in this case would have been the faster stitcher... AND I AM A VERY SLOW STITCHER!!!

I have stitched it with a floss dyed by Romy's Creation and added a butterfly button from Puntini Puntini.

When I finally finished the stitching... it took me more than 2 weeks... no comment, please... I framed it with an old Loop I don't use any more.

And now it is on the wall in my home. I love it and find it very in theme with this season. I like to have seasonal items :-)

"Love" pillow

This is one of the steps from the SAL JINGLE LIZZIE KATE I made last year (I still have to finish the stitching of many of them...).

One day I was working on another sewing finishing and decided to complete this one too.

a little cat

A friend gave me this cute cat-frame and I filled it in a simple way.

Because it is true: I love cat(s) ;-)

a Christmas gift

in 2014 the finished works were few... health problems caused me to have long periods while I didn't feel like stitching or I had slightly sight problems and this caused me difficulties in doing it...

but at Christmas at least one thing was done! this little pattern, from Mani di Donna with buttons from Stitched Tales (I like her buttons so much!).

I made a little pillow of it to hang at Christmas and it became a present for one of my dearest friends.

I was very scared to make mistakes while I was sewing it as I have a very bad feeling with the sewing machine... it took me 2 long hours of concentration and I feared till the end to make something wrong... but I didn't!

and it came out really nice! I am so proud of it!!! I would like to stop to feel scared each time I sew with the sewing machine!!! LOL

SAL Jingle Lizzie Kate - june and july steps done with delay

I am very late in update this blog...

the truth is I didn't stitch too much and I am late in everything!!!

Let me see if I am at least able to update the blog with what I have done since August...

and in September this one

since then... this SAL has been completely forgotten by my needle... 

hope to pick it up again and finish it. I love these subjects and (at this point) I'd like to see them as decoration for next Christmas!!!

SAL Jingle Lizzie Kate - some updates

it seems August is the right month to make up for lost steps in this SAL. In the last weeks I have stitched these three ones above here.

I enjoy stitching them and they finish quite quickly: the right kind of cross stitch work I need in these days.

Hope to make up for the others: still need 3 too be "right" with the supposed program :-)

MMS July and August

Yesssssssssssss!!! I have even done more than what was required!!! LOL

The truth is that this work is perfect to be stitched when I am in chemio therapy at the hospital: it is simple, not too many colours... I can easily stitch it in the more than 6 hours I have to do in day hospital once every three weeks and in July I had 2 therapies... so I had a lot of time to dedicate to this SAL.

so, here it is, July and August stitched:

The theme of these two months was the sea... it isn't my favourite to tell the truth: I live at 9 kms from it but I never go there.
Even if this year I go more often, at least once every week, to have a walk and make some movement.
Yesterday I was there and enjoied this great sunset:

MMS May and June

In the last days I finished May and yesterday I stitched June, a very fast month!

I made something different in June, I stitched Stella, my kitty, a few differences from the original cat. 

Look at her, isn't she exactly the same???

this is a little felt house, my very first felt house!
it was part of a kit I bought so long ago I don't even remember when... it should have a twin... when will I make it? who knows... :-D

April's block is done!

Now I am working on May's one and I will be in line with the others of the group who make the SAL of Cuoreditela :-)

I am not stitching too much... even if I am at home and don't work. I can't concentrate on my xstitch work too long... so this is one of the few things I am working on...

SAL Jingle Lizzie Kate - second step

In March I did the second step of the SAL Jingle:

My cross stitch work had a stop in these months as I have been sick. I hope to make up for all the xxx I had to do now that I am better and have a lot of spare time being at home from work... ;-)

a new SAL for 2014 - Jingle from Lizzie Kate

I am organizinga new SAL for this year, we are stitching the flip-its called Jingle issued from Lizzie Kate last year.

Each of us can decide wether stitching them as a whole work or stitching the single patterns.
I have decided to stitch the single patterns, I like the idea to make 12 decorations...

This is the first one, for the month of January... It is so cute!!!

Scary Scary Night

the stitching is an old one. I have made it some years ago, but I didn't know what to do of it.

last Sunday I finally made this little pillow. I like it :-)

Pincushions

In this period I am stitching little patterns of my friend Cuoreditela and I am enjoying to make pincushions of them.

Here there are the ones I have finished: 

The blue and the liliac one are stitched with threads dyed by Romina, the red/green thread has been dyed by Sara.

I find these little works relaxing and am enjoying using a lot of beads so that I can use some of those I have been storing since ever ;-)

A witch is flying...

This is a good period for witches, isn't it? LOL

This one is an old project that was resting in a corner. Last week I took it in my hands again, I finished it and made a little pillow.

it is now in my witches collection, among all the other "girls" that came out for the occasion from their boxes and are enjoying some fresh air before flying tonight :D

I have two other witches to be stitched. one began last Sunday... will her need 4 years to be finished as it happened to this one??? we'll see....
